FAQs

Q: After cleaning, how soon can I walk on my carpet?
A. Immediately right after cleaning. We supply you and your families with plastic booties for your feet. We also recommended to lay down towels on the hard surface areas such as tile or hard wood flooring before entering onto the damp carpet. (Don’t forget to put your booties on)
Q: How long does it take to dry?
A: Depending upon the weather approximately 2-4 hours make sure to leave windows open if possible.
Q: I've heard that once you clean a carpet it gets dirty quicker. Is that true?
A: Not with our Two-Step Clean system. Residue that gets left in the carpet from inferior cleaning processes is what causes rapid re-soiling. Our two-step cleaning process uses pressurized hot water and advanced cleaning agents to loosen soil. Then we remove the dirt and the cleaning solution with clear water rinse and a powerful vacuuming from our truck mounts, leaving your carpet soft, clean and dry.
Q: When you clean my carpet, does the padding or sub-floor get wet?
A: No. Our Two-Step Clean system uses a very powerful, deep-cleaning fiber rinse; the system extracts the cleaning solution and the dirt very effectively in the same step. That gets your carpets as clean as possible while leaving your padding and sub-floor dry.
Q: I've heard water can ruin carpets. Is that true?
A: No. What harms carpet is poor quality machinery that doesn't remove enough of the water to allow the carpet to go through the drying process properly.
Q: Why is professional cleaning important?
A: Vacuuming does not remove all the soil or you have not been able to remove spots following the recommended carpet care and cleaning procedures, it's time to have your carpet cleaned by professional cleaner.
Q: Does Carpet Protector really work?
A: Absolutely. Carpet protector is an outstanding product that SafeClean recommends highly. In fact, most new carpet has protector on it - applied by the carpet manufacturer. However, protector wears off because of traffic on the carpet, frequent vacuuming, etc.
Q: Why is vacuuming important?
A: The most important thing you can do to keep your carpet looking great is to vacuum it thoroughly and frequently, particularly in high-traffic areas. Vacuuming helps remove dirt particles which dull the carpet's appearance and damage the carpet fibers. Also, use walk-off mats at entrances to minimize dirt particles being tracked onto the carpet and to reduce soil accumulation.
Q. Do I have to be home while my carpet is being cleaned?
A. It is not necessary that you be home while your carpet is cleaned because our cleaning technicians are thoroughly trained professionals you can trust. In order to provide the best possible cleaning, we do recommend that someone is home before we begin cleaning to discuss any specific needs or areas of concern regarding the care of your carpet.
Q. Can both my area rug and the carpet that it sits on cleaned at the same time?
A. Yes. However, the area rug cannot dry over the wet carpet. The area rug will be draped over dry area.
Q. What should I do if the stains that were cleaned reappear?
A. Although most stains that are removed from carpet do not reappear, deep stains in carpet backing may wick back to the surface. If this happens, just give us a call and we'll clean the entire area for free, no questions ask.
Q. What is the most important reason to clean my carpet regularly?
A. You need to clean carpet regularly for durability, good look, and to help keep the indoor air quality, which you breathe.
Q. I'm considering buying one of those household, carpet cleaning machines. Won't they do a good job of cleaning my carpets?
A. Those machines are fine to clean up spills and to keep the high-traffic areas looking clean between professional cleanings. But they are just not powerful enough to clean down to the base of the carpet where grit is wearing away at your fibers. Plus there's no rinsing process to remove the residues left by the cleaning agents so your carpets may re-soil faster.
Q. Someone told me that I shouldn't have my carpets cleaned because they will re-soil more quickly. Is this true?
A. Steam extraction cleaning technology has come a long way, especially in the last 10 years! It's improving even as you read this! At one time residues did pose a re-soiling problem but, like any other industry, the problems were addressed and corrected with rinsing agents and more powerful vacuums. If your current carpet cleaner isn't rinsing when they extract the dirt how can they claim that no residues are being left behind?
Q. How often should I have my carpet cleaned?
Depending on the age of your carpet (older carpet gets soiled faster), professional carpet cleaning should be done every six to twelve months.  The major carpet manufacturers recommend a professional cleaning every 6 to 12 months to maintain the appearance of your carpet, and Stainmaster, for instance, requires that it be done at least every 18 to 24 months to maintain your warranty.  We can keep your furnishings looking their best with regular maintenance.  Don't go a minute longer with stained, dingy or unhealthy carpets!
Q. Is "Steam Cleaning" (Hot Water Extraction) detrimental to the life of my carpet?
No. Tests indicate steam cleaning does not affect the integrity of carpet, and is the number-one recommended cleaning method of major carpet manufactures. In fact, "Stainmaster" (the stain protection found in most carpet) warranties require hot water extraction (steam cleaning)   least every 18-24 months, and Shaw Corp., the world's leading carpet manufacturer  recommends "steam cleaning"  every 6 to 12 months.
Q. Are pets a danger to my carpet or upholstered furniture?
Although we love those furry friends just like you do, unfortunately the answer, in some cases, is yes, depending on how well your pet is trained. We have seen carpets that have been ruined by pet urine/ feces, and in some cases the pad, sub-flooring and baseboards are ruined as well. However, if the offense is not too great, we do specialize in pet odor removal and can re-sanitize your carpet. Please call us for an inspection. Also, cats and dogs can do a great deal of damage with their claws.
Q. How can I reduce wear and rapid re-soiling?
We can treat your carpet with DuPont Teflon Carpet Protector, it really works! This will allow more dirt to go into your vacuum cleaner when you vacuum, and also protect against some stains in the case of spills. Also, area rugs or runners can be used. Maintain your carpet with frequent vacuuming.
Q. What is your preferred payment method
We except cash, cheque, credit card, Electronic Funds Transfer and over the phone credit card payments.
